Ebantic participated in the presentation on AI at the MAC2023 Audiovisual Market Fair in Catalonia.
Carles Rams, CEO of Ebantic, highlighted the advantages of AI, considering it as the fourth industrial revolution. We are currently in an early stage where uncertainty and concerns overwhelm us with information.
Generative AI
Generative AI should not be seen as a threat, but as an opportunity. AI does not aim to eliminate jobs, but rather to optimize the content we generate. When it comes to process digitalization, we refer to its optimization, and AI represents a new stage in this optimization, a step further.
ChatGPT
Based on our experience implementing systems like ChatGPT in newsrooms, we believe that this tool is not useful for the initial creation of content; rather, it is generative, meaning it relies on existing data to generate original content. Currently, we cannot claim that using just 4 words will generate an automated text for publication, as it doesn’t validate the generated text. This requires additional work and time for editors to review the source, text accuracy, and writing style. Our experience tells us that a system like ChatGPT helps us create a text structure, which is useful for summarizing specific texts or even for translation, where the necessary review will be reduced.
Content Indexing
Each passing day accumulates more and more content for any media or company. The volume of existing and new information surpasses employees’ capacity to index it. The emergence of AI represents a clear advancement in content classification and indexing. The use of tools and algorithms optimizes employees’ time and even improves it. This means that with less time dedicated, better results are obtained, allowing for more time to be allocated to other productive tasks.
